Hi, I’m JT.
I’m a junior doctor with a passion forΒ Public Health, Science Communication, and Health Tech.
I am a curious self-learner where I love to go down internet rabbit holes late into the night.
In my spare time, I’m currently focused on achieving the elusive front split and estoy aprendiendo espaΓ±ol (1000 days and counting on Duolingo!).
Projects & Interests
First Principles of Medicine.
1PM β β A medical podcast where we ask each other the stupid questions we were too embarrassed to ask the consultants on ward rounds.
Decades.
John & I engage in a discussion on the key people, themes, and topics that defined our favourite decades.
Effective Studying.
While studying for the UWA MD, we created 38,500 custom-made Anki flashcards.
Anki is a powerful program that combines the effective study principles of ‘Deliberate Practice’ and ‘Spaced Repetition’.
Science Communication.
On Dare to Know, I creatively explain complex topics in an entertaining way.
Effective Altruism.
After learning about the EA movement, I pledged to give 5% of my income to effective charities.
Since 2021, I have presented a 5-minute talk to medical professionals, discussing how we can maximise our impact in helping others.
